Outbound for data analytics services: sell a defined decision, not another dashboard
Anchor the offer to a business decision and the metric used to make it. A dashboard is only useful when the underlying definitions and ownership are clear.

Who this helps: B2B suppliers qualifying industry-specific outreach before making delivery commitments.
Define the decision
Analytics projects can stall because teams disagree on what counts, which source is authoritative or who should act on a result. Public company information rarely reveals the exact internal defect. Offer a bounded metric-definition exercise rather than claiming the prospect's reporting is broken.
Work through the procedure
- Choose a decision your service is qualified to support, such as reconciling a sales funnel definition.
- Identify the likely business owner without assuming they own every source system.
- Offer a sample metric contract showing numerator, denominator, source, refresh timing and exclusions.
- Qualify data access, ownership and the acceptance test before proposing implementation.
Worked example
The following is a synthetic example for this procedure, not a customer result or performance benchmark.
Sample metric contract
Decision: whether a sales stage needs process attention
Metric: accepted opportunities / qualified conversations
Owner: to be confirmed
Source of truth: to be agreed
Exclusions: duplicates and test records
Acceptance test: two reviewers reproduce the same result from the same snapshot.Read the result
The artifact demonstrates how the consultant works without pretending to know the prospect's data. If the buyer wants a visual redesign while the definitions are already sound, the scope may be different. If no owner can accept a definition, clarify governance before estimating a dashboard build.
Check before moving on
- Keep sample data synthetic and labeled.
- Do not promise access to systems you have not assessed.
- Separate metric reconciliation from causal analysis and forecasting.
Limits and next action
This is a qualification method, not a claim that Zintara connects to every analytics stack or provides these consulting services. Confirm authorization and data handling requirements before examining client records. A polished sample is not evidence of a measured client result.
