AI research with a missing website: preserve uncertainty
An empty research result means evidence is missing. It does not establish that the company lacks a website, has no product or matches a model's generic description.

Define the decision
A fetch can fail because of a wrong domain, temporary network condition, unsupported page behavior or access restriction. The next action depends on that cause. Treat an attractive fallback paragraph as a draft aid, not as proof that the website was inspected successfully.
Work through the procedure
- Confirm the supplied domain belongs to the intended organization. Check for a typo or a personal mailbox domain.
- Inspect the site through an ordinary browser when appropriate and note whether the relevant content is actually available.
- Separate fetch failure from lack of relevant evidence. A reachable homepage may still provide no support for the intended claim.
- Use verified role-level context, research further or exclude the record. Do not manufacture a company observation to fill the field.
Worked example
The following is a synthetic example for this procedure, not a customer result or performance benchmark.
Research output: no usable website text
Known: company identity still needs verification
Unknown: products, current initiatives, internal needs
Allowed draft direction: a neutral question only if the role and offer fit independently
Disallowed leap: 'Your expanding team needs our solution'Read the result
The fallback direction reduces specificity rather than replacing evidence with confidence. If there is no independently relevant reason to contact the person, hold the record. Missing research is an acceptable operational outcome and should remain visible in your quality review.
Check before moving on
- Verify the domain before retrying a large batch.
- Label fallback or manually incomplete research in review notes.
- Check that later templates do not assume every research field contains a factual observation.
Limits and next action
Zintara can use deterministic fallback output when AI or research is unavailable. That keeps a workflow functional but does not create verified facts. This guide does not suggest bypassing website access restrictions or claiming comprehensive research from a limited fetch.
