Weekend sending settings: plan the Monday backlog

Excluding weekends moves eligible work into later allowed windows; it does not eliminate the workload. Review the next business day's follow-ups and first touches together before expanding the campaign.

Who this helps: Campaign owners preparing, monitoring or recovering an outreach sequence.

Define the decision

The right allowed days depend on the recipient's work pattern and the purpose of the outreach. A weekday-only setting is an operational choice, not proof of better performance. Its main planning consequence is that work due on excluded days waits, potentially competing with newly added contacts when sending resumes.

Work through the procedure

  1. List the days intentionally allowed for this audience. Confirm that the campaign timezone makes those day boundaries meaningful for the chosen region.
  2. Estimate the follow-ups becoming due during the excluded period. Keep that number separate from new first-touch demand.
  3. Compare the combined workload with the constraints that will apply in the next allowed window. Delay new additions when existing conversations need attention.
  4. Review any copy that refers to a date, a weekend event or 'tomorrow.' Replace relative language when the actual send can shift.

Worked example

The following is a synthetic example for this procedure, not a customer result or performance benchmark.

Monday planning example
Follow-ups due over excluded days: 35
New first touches proposed Monday: 40
Illustrative available daily capacity: 50
Demand: 75; capacity shortfall: 25
Decision: defer some new additions and review time-sensitive copy

Read the result

This arithmetic describes workload, not the precise queue order. Do not promise that the 35 follow-ups will always go first unless you have verified the current product behavior. The important planning result is that all 75 messages cannot fit within a capacity of 50 on that day.

Check before moving on

  1. Verify that a contact due on an excluded day has a plausible later eligible window.
  2. Check for regional holidays separately; a weekday setting does not encode every local business calendar.
  3. Assign reply coverage for the first allowed day, when responses and queued work may arrive together.

Limits and next action

Changing allowed days is not a remedy for a disconnected sender or paused enrollment. Zintara still checks state, due time, selected accounts and budgets. If a campaign remains idle inside an allowed window, investigate those gates rather than repeatedly toggling weekend settings.
